How to use a prayer room

DSCF0151.jpg

While in a chapel room, we invite you to engage privately in prayer, worship, journaling, devotional reading, and meditation on God’s word.

In each room, there are devotionals, prayer guides, and prayer cards for prophetic words and prayer requests. These rooms are spaces to sit, stand, kneel, and dance. However you choose to use a chapel room, we simply ask that you do so in solitude (one person at a time) and relative quietness, in a manner that respects and honors those using other rooms.

+ Why use a prayer chapel, and not pray at home?

Vintage aims to be a people of prayer in the midst of the city of Los Angeles. In order to flourish in our spiritual lives and become the agents of change our city needs, we have to learn to push back against the relentless noise and compulsivity of our city. Developing daily, weekly and monthly patterns of prayer that work within the flow of our lives, helps us to live prayerfully in all that we do. This is the vision of the Prayer Chapel.

+ What is our heart for building this space?

The Prayer Chapel is a space to encounter God’s presence, practice silence and solitude, cry out and engage with the needs of the world through prayer, worship, and adoration. It is a space for constant personal and corporate prayer.

+ How were the rooms designed for use?

While in the chapel rooms, we invite you to worship, meditate on God’s word, read a devotional, engage in private prayer, and write in your journal. In each room, there are devotionals, prayer guides, prayer cards for prophetic words, and prayer requests. These rooms area space to sit in silence, stand, kneel or dance. We simply ask that whatever you do, you do it in a manner that respects and honors others using the chapel.
