We are fun, relaxed and welcoming community rooted in the unchanging gospel of Jesus Christ, hungering for the in-filling, presence and empowerment of the Holy Spirit and seeking to love our world in the name of Jesus.
We have a simple vision: ‘Joining God in the Renewal of All Things’. The great story of the Bible revolves around this amazing and simple truth - God loves us and is committed to restoring and healing our broken lives and the world through Jesus Christ. He invites us, his church, to participate with him in seeing his Kingdom come, his will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
OUR CORE VALUES
INTIMACY WITH GOD
Our highest privilege and joy is our enjoyment of an intimate and profound relationship with God.
We want Vintage to be the place where you find your home in LA. The church is family.
We are on mission together seeking the evangelization and transformation of society.
WORD AND SPIRIT
We are rooted in the unchanging truth and gospel of Jesus Christ, and hunger for the in-filing, presence and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Here are some of the books we recommend to get an even bigger picture of who we are.
Our name does mean something to us! It doesn’t mean that we wear Vintage clothing (though some do) or we are a church just for over 60s (though some of our beloved family are over 60)! We are called Vintage Church because:
IN CHRIST. Vintage brings to mind a vineyard, and our primary identity as a community is to abide in the vine, that is Christ. He is our life, our vision, our hope and the focus of our worship and devotion.
HISTORICITY. To be Vintage is not to be new. And neither is Christianity. We aren’t the next new thing. We don’t feel the need to innovate on the unchanging gospel of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to be a church that is relevant to our modern culture and city and remains rooted in the fullness of New Testament Christianity.
MATURE. As a vintage wine ages, its flavors blossom, mature and reach their potential. So it is with the church. We are not perfect (by any means!), and yet we believe in an exciting future for the church. We believe God is maturing his church to be the pure and spotless bride of Christ and the means of his in-breaking kingdom in our world.
