LA Wildfire - Ash Out Program

We have been given the green light to serve those affected by the fires in the Palisades through Samaritan’s Purse. Volunteers will assist homeowners affected by Palisades Fire and will help with personal property recovery.

If your family has been affected by the fires:

  1. Call the Assistance Line
    Dial 833-747-1234 to speak with a Samaritan’s Purse representative.

  2. Wait for Clearance
    Ensure your home has been cleared by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), which handles the removal of hazardous materials and debris.

  3. Connect with a Samaritan’s Purse Representative
    After receiving EPA clearance, you will be connected with a Samaritan’s Purse representative who will guide you through the next steps.

  4. Access Your Home
    The representative will assist you in safely accessing your home to retrieve personal items.

  5. Recover Personal Items
    Work alongside the Samaritan’s Purse team to collect any personal belongings that are safe to retrieve.

No skills are necessary prior to serving. Volunteers will be led and instructed by experienced team leads.

Single Day Shifts Available: February 13 through March 8
Meeting Location: Cornerstone Church of West Los Angeles
Arrival Time: 7:15 AM
Training & Orientation: Begins at 7:30 AM sharp (arrive by 7:15 AM) 

  • Volunteers will carpool to the site. If you are in a group, your vehicle will receive a car pass. Since car passes are limited, we encourage filling up cars as much as possible.

  • Lunch: Bring a packed lunch (30-40 min lunch break). Free food trucks are available, but lines can be long.

  • Dress Code: No flip-flops. Wear long pants and sturdy boots/shoes. All protective gear will be provided.

  • Age: Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age or older (minors will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian and have an additional form to fill out).

  • End Time: The workday officially ends at 5 PM, though it may wrap up earlier depending on homeowners’ needs.
