Service & Events Coordinator -

Employment Status: Part-time, 20 hours/week including 8 hours on Sundays (FLSA Non-Exempt, hourly)
Primary Purpose of Position
The Sunday Service & Events Coordinator will work with the South Bay Pastor on the coordination, administration, operation, and execution of Vintage South Bay Sunday Services as well as other events and programs. This will include Sunday hospitality and volunteer coordination, membership dinners, New to Vintage Lunch, and could expand to weekly programs and large events including Alpha and School of Discipleship, as well as additional events and courses that are scheduled over the course of the ministry year.
Key Responsibilities
Lead events through the full planning process from kick off to debrief
Manage budgets and maintain expense reports for each event
Coordinate outside vendors including interviewing, booking and scheduling
Execute systems setup including event registration, managing guest list/groups and check-ins through Planning Center software
Ensure event details, including registration and promotion are scheduled with marketing department
Ensure all operations, facility and security processes are implemented, observed and communicated
Serve as Event Lead on the day of the event from setup through tear down
Recruit, utilize, train and lead volunteer teams to prepare for and execute small to mid-sized events as well as Sunday Services.
Create and execute a culture of radical hospitality on Sundays
Requirements
A committed follower of Jesus with an active, maturing faith
Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive life-giving attitude
Proficient administrative skills such as scheduling, organizing, coordinating, budgeting
Necessary Skills / Experience:
Experience in managing events ranging in size from 50 to 1000 guests
Experience working as a volunteer or staff in a mid-to-large size church a plus
Ability to stay organized, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks at the same time
Ability to write clear and well-crafted emails
Proficient in Apple OS and Google Workspace
Ability to become proficient with Planning Center Online, Asana, Slack and other relevant websites/tools.
Strong social and emotional intelligence

Additional Requirements
As a staff member of Vintage Church, the overarching purpose of your role is to serve the mission of the church. As such, you may be assigned tasks and responsibilities from time to time which are outside of the scope of this job description.
The work schedule may include weekend and evening hours. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all staff are required to work certain church functions such as Alpha Launch Nights and the FOCUS Retreat, and the religious holidays of Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Christmas Eve. These special events may include additional hours for setup and teardown. Additional details are outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Pay Range
Pay range: $25 - $35 / hour
