Facilities Assistant
Location: Santa Monica
Line Manager: Operations Director
Payroll Status: 20 hours/week (FLSA Non-Exempt, hourly)
Work week: Saturday & Sunday; plus scheduled as needed Mon-Fri
Salary: $20-22 per hour
The Facilities Assistant will work with the Operations Team on the coordination, administration, and execution of Vintage events and programs as well as landscaping, facilities upkeep, and general building maintenance.
The Facilities Assistant’s main duty will be to support the team in setting up and packing down from events. Other day-to-day tasks and projects around the building will be assigned as needed. This is a Saturday and Sunday role with mid-week shifts (including evening hours) as scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
Support the operations and events team with event set up and take down for ministry courses, meetings, special events, worship, production, weddings, memorial services, and other events.
Perform minor maintenance jobs around the building as needed
Assist in heavy lifting and moving of furniture around the building
Assist with furniture assembly
Support the operations and facilities team in the management and upkeep of Vintage apartments
Help the production team with the build and take down of the LED wall for ministry events
Proactively stock facilities supplies across campus (including bathrooms, kitchen, and other common areas)
Ensure a clean and tidy environment across campus, including light cleaning, trash removal and landscaping
Serve as front door security presence for small ministry meetings or events, as scheduled

As a staff member of Vintage Church, the overarching purpose of your role is to serve the mission of the church. As such, you may be assigned tasks and responsibilities from time to time which are outside of the scope of this job description.

Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Additional Requirements
The work schedule will include weekend and evening hours. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all staff are required to work certain church functions such as Alpha Launch Nights and the FOCUS Retreat, and the religious holidays of Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Christmas Eve. These special events may include additional hours for setup and teardown. Additional details are outlined in the Employee Handbook.
