Prayer & Care Intern
The Prayer & Care Intern provides operational, administrative, and relational support for the prayer and care ministries at Vintage Church LA. Serving under the Director of Prayer and Care and in collaboration with ministry leaders, this role helps sustain the systems, communication, and volunteer rhythms that cultivate a culture of prayer and pastoral care.
The intern coordinates logistics, assists with team development, and ensures smooth execution of ministry gatherings, training, and initiatives. Functioning as both a team builder and learner, this role offers hands-on experience in spiritual leadership, prayer ministry, and pastoral care. Through this position, the intern grows in practical ministry skills while helping others encounter the presence and love of God.
Responsibilities
Prayer Culture and Teams
Ownership of coordination and operations of the prayer team, events, gatherings, trainings, and initiatives.
Assist with team leadership, communication, scheduling, and volunteer organization and development.
Help with vision, preparation and maintenance of prayer environments for gatherings and events.
Contribute to the planning and development of Vintage’s prayer culture by teaching 4 times at core team meetings and leading one of the Core Team specialty teams.
Assist in writing and brainstorming prayer curriculum and written prayer activities.
Participate in Prayer Ministry Core Team meetings, supporting facilitation and helping hold the culture and flow of the space.
Care Ministry Support
Support pastoral care rhythms such as care appointments and ongoing prayer follow up under the direction of Care leadership.
Support scheduling and follow-up for Care Appointments and requests.
Assist with care intake, follow up communication, and coordination of next steps including referrals, benevolence pathways, and prayer support.
Support Pastoral Care Advocacy communications, coordination, and team rhythms alongside the Pastoral Care Team.
Maintain organized care documentation and internal tracking systems, including notes and recommendations in Planning Center.
Serve as a first point of connection for care related questions on Sundays, helping route individuals to appropriate pastoral leaders and next steps.
Assist in connecting individuals to vetted care resources, counseling referrals, and ministry pathways, including support in managing care resources.
Church-wide
Support events and pre-event operations designated as “all-staff” work days
Developmental Goals
Developing confidence in facilitating prayer spaces and supporting prayer teams
Learning about different types of prayer such as prayer ministry, inner healing, listening, deliverance, guided prayer, prayer response
Formation in healthy, biblically grounded prayer ministry through attending and helping to facilitate prayer ministry training.
Growth in pastoral listening, discernment, and compassion
Observe and learn best practices for pastoral listening, discernment, and confidentiality.
Understanding care systems and pathways within a local church context

Typical Schedule: Sunday to Wednesday
Support quarterly training evenings and Saturday retreats
Kira Bradford, Director of Prayer & Care
Kira Bradford leads the vision and integration of prayer at Vintage and is a part of the care team which serves the church. She is passionate about forming a community that is rooted in God’s presence, attentive to His voice, and equipped to care for others with wisdom and compassion. Kira equips leaders through prayer ministry, care systems, and immersive environments like prayer rooms and retreats. Those working with her can expect to be both supported and empowered as they grow in discernment, humility, and Spirit-led leadership.
