Why Affordable Housing Matters
A safe, stable, and affordable home provides far more than four walls. It creates a foundation for healthier families, better educational opportunities, greater financial stability, and stronger communities. When families have a secure place to call home, they're able to invest in their future rather than simply trying to survive each day. Research consistently shows that access to affordable housing is one of the most effective ways to reduce intergenerational poverty and increase long-term opportunity.
That's why we're excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, whose mission is simple yet transformative: "Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope."
Partnership Approach
Habitat doesn't simply give away homes. Families partner alongside volunteers, investing hundreds of hours of "sweat equity" while receiving financial education and purchasing their homes through affordable mortgages. It's a model built on dignity, shared responsibility, and long-term transformation.
Over the coming year, Vintage volunteers will have the opportunity to serve alongside Habitat as part of the construction of new affordable homes in North Long Beach, while also supporting disaster recovery and home repair efforts as opportunities arise throughout Los Angeles.
This partnership reflects the heart of LoveLA: bringing together our time, gifts, and resources to love our city in practical ways while pointing people to the hope of Christ. We believe transformation happens best through relationships, collaboration, and faithful presence—and we're excited to build alongside our neighbors, one home at a time.
