VKids Intern
VKids Ministry Intern will assist in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can grow spiritually and build meaningful relationships. Interns will help plan and lead small‑group activities, support classrooms during services, and help new families feel welcomed. This role includes preparing materials, assisting with check‑in and safety procedures, and participating in team meetings and training. The ideal candidate is energetic, reliable, and passionate about working with children, with a desire to grow in ministry and leadership while serving the church community.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparing classrooms, planning and delivering weekly curriculum, crafts and activities appropriate for each development stage
Co-lead Sunday Check-in process for new families
Co-manage weekly parent events (Mom’s Groups)
Provide hospitality, support, and orientation for volunteer team, in addition to engaging in ongoing volunteer recruitment activities
Classroom leader for Sunday services
Oversee ordering and tracking of inventory & supplies
Church-wide
Participate in events and pre-event operations designated as “all-staff” work days to support wider church ministry
Developmental Goals
Foundational training in child development and its application to age-appropriate spiritual formation
Robust understanding and ability to execute day-to-day operations of children’s ministry
Confidence & Competency in classroom management & leadership along with check-in desk processes & protocols
VKids Intern Schedule Variations
Typical Schedule: Tuesday to Thursday, and Sundays
Amanda Hewlett, Director of Young Families Ministry
Amanda serves as the Director of Young Families Ministry at Vintage Church where she equips parents, directs Sunday services for children (0-5th grade) and builds intergenerational community around shared faith. With a heart for families navigating the early parenting years, she designs ministries that connect young parents to one another, to Scripture, and to the wider church body. Through small groups, leading VKIDS services on Sundays, and intentional discipleship among her volunteer community, she helps others grow spiritually while fostering a safe, welcoming environment for both children and caregivers.
